EATRIS et NeurATRIS lancent leur deuxième série de webinaires dédiés aux maladies neurodégénératives en Avril et Mai 2019. Cette série sera consacrée aux outils biologiques et technologiques tels que les modèles précliniques ou l'IRM ultra haut champ pour l'étude des maladies neurodégénératives et leurs applications possibles en médecine translationnelle. Ces webinaires sont donnés par des experts du domaine, chaque fois en collaboration avec une infrastructure de recherche française ou européenne spécialisée : Celphedia pour les modèles précliniques, France Life Imaging pour l'imagerie in vivo...

Tous les webinaires sont gratuits. Une session de questions du public est prévue à la fin de chaque webinaire. Tous les webinaires sont enregistrés et les vidéos seront accessibles en ligne.

La première session de cette série aura lieu le 17 Avril 2019 à 11h, et sera co-animée par EATRIS, NeurATRIS et Celphedia.
La seconde session aura lieu le 6 mai 2019 à 11h, et sera co-animée par EATRIS, NeurATRIS et France Life Imaging.

IN VIVO PRECLINICAL MODELS FOR THE STUDY OF NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES by Dr. Romina Aron Badin (NeurATRIS) and Dr. Marie-Christine Birling (Celphedia)

Animal models are an indispensable research tool to understand, assess and treat neurodegenerative diseases in the preclinical setting. In this webinar, the speakers will highlight the contributions of discovery and experimentation in rodents and non-human primate (NHP) models to understand health and disease in humans and to preclinical drug development. The speakers will then focus on how to generate NHP models for neurodegenerative diseases and how to characterize them, using the example of a preclinical model of Tauopathy (viral overexpression) and the validation of a new gene therapy strategy for Parkinson’s disease (MPTP model).

Ultra high-field MR Imaging and Spectroscopy in Clinical & Translational Research by Dr. Cyril Poupon and Dr. Fawzi Boumezbeur (CEA Paris Saclay / NeuroSpin)

In vivo NMR Imaging and Spectroscopy are exceptional tools to look non-invasively at the brain from complementary point-of-views, whether we want to study its anatomy, structure, function or metabolism. Thanks to the development of ultra-high field MR scanners, physicists can propose new methods and participate with neuroscientists, bio-informaticians and physicians to the development and validation of new biomarkers to diagnose brain pathologies or evaluate treatment response. The speakers will focus on presenting the opportunities and challenges of MR Imaging and Spectroscopy at ultra-high field and will use few examples to illustrate how UHF MRI and MRS can help in better understanding the Human brain in normal and pathological conditions.
